Dawat-e-Islami’s central executive committee conducted a Madani Mashwarah 12-15 years ago in which it was discussed whether Jamia-tul-Madinah should run with Dawat-e-Islami’s organisational network or a separate arrangement should be made for it. The issue was Dawat-e-Islami mainly focused on the 12 religious works like the Madani Qafilah, Pious Deeds booklet etc., so it would be difficult to run Jamia-tul-Madinah alongside them. 

We were tasked with making a very important decision, so we turned to the leader of Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ for advice. In those days, he lived near the Madani Markaz in a town in Pir Ilahi Bakhsh Colony (PIB Colony). The members of the executive committee visited the Shaykh and explained the issue. He remained quiet for a while before saying, “It is my wish for there to be a Jamia-tul-Madinah on every street.” اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه! After this accomplished saint spoke these words, Jamia-tul-Madinah continuously achieved success and there was a demand for them to be built. We also started encouraging people to enrol in Jamia-tul-Madinah in our mashwaras and speeches.

Dawat-e-Islami’s central executive committee was formed in the year 2000 and four or five Jamiaat were built at the time, but more were built at a rapid pace and the total amount worldwide is clear to you today. As Dawat-e-Islami’s nigran of Pakistan, it is my wish for there to be a Jamia for boys and a Jamia for girls in every organisational division. There are over 1800 divisions, and اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه, the day will come when my wish is fulfilled. Likewise, it is my wish for a Madrassa-tul-Madinah for boys and a Madrassa for girls to be in every one of the 6000 areas in Dawat-e-Islami’s system. May Allah Almighty allow us to fulfil my wish. I hope death does not come to me until I hear that 11.200,000 students are gaining knowledge in our Jamiaat. May Allah Almighty grant us that day. 

اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه! The Jamiaat play an important role in aiding the religious work of Dawat-e-Islami. There are many graduates of Dawat-e-Islami who are active in performing the religious activities. My Shaykh, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ wishes for every responsible Islamic brother to be a Madani, from the central executive committee down to the zehli halqa. This will ensure that all our actions are according to Shariah and the Sunnah, and this will make us successful in earning the pleasure of Allah Almighty. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه Dawat-e-Islami’s central executive committee is striving to make the Shaykh’s wish become reality. In the past, Mufti Muḥammad Fārūq ꜤAṭṭārī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  offered guidance to the committee, and even now some members of the executive committee are also Madanis. 

We try to give organisational responsibilities to Madani Islamic brothers who are active in performing religious activities, and those who already have these responsibilities are entrusted with more. For example, if a Madani Islamic brother is a division nigran, he is promoted to kabinah nigran. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه Over time, you will see more Madani Islamic brothers with prominent responsibilities. In the initial years after the central executive committee was formed, we faced many problems like how would we pay wages and other expenses related to the Jamiaat? How will new Jamiaat be built? However, we witnessed over time that the decision of our Shaykh was correct and based on foresight. Through the grace of Allah Almighty, the Jamiaat were built and more are being constructed, and Madani donations are increasing too. 

The students of the Jamiaat-ul-Madinah and Madaaris-ul-Madinah are helpful in performing religious work. مَا شَـآءَ اللّٰه! There are many students who deliver masjid dars, chawk dars, participate in the weekly gatherings, travel on the Madani Qafilahs, and some even travel on a 12-month Qafilah. The system of the Jamiaat becoming self-sufficient is also improving. 

May Allah Almighty grant success to all the departments of Dawat-e-Islami, especially the department of Jamia-tul-Madinah, and may He forgive us without accountability for the sake of the students and teachers therein.
