Introduction

Jamiatul Madinah

Since the inception of Dawat-e-Islami in 1981 up to 1994, Madaaris-ul-Madinah were established but there were no jamiaat. Over time, feeling the need for such an institute, the first class of Dars-e-Nizami was taught in the morning during September 1994 in New Karachi, Godhra Colony, Karachi, and over 50 students were part of this class. The institute was initially called Madrasa-tul-Madinah, but it was renamed to Jamia-tul-Madinah a few years later.

One of the beauties of Dawat-e-Islami’s environment is the passion it instills for acquiring knowledge and studying religious literature. The Leader of Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَتْ بَرَكَاتُهُمُ الْعَالِيهْ authored Faizan-e-Sunnat for delivering masjid lessons, with a chapter on the virtues of Islamic knowledge.

Launch of Jamia-tul-Madinah
From 1981 to 1994, Madaaris-ul-Madinah were established, but no Jamiaat existed. In September 1994, Dars-e-Nizami began in Godhra Colony, Karachi, with over 50 students. Initially called "Madrassa-tul-Madinah," it was renamed "Jamia-tul-Madinah."

Evening Dars-e-Nizami
Evening classes started a few months later in Green Market, Karachi, with around 60 students, benefiting those with daytime commitments.

Challenges
Initially, food, accommodation, and facilities were scarce. Despite hardships, teachers and students displayed patience and dedication.

Leader’s Concern
Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَتْ بَرَكَاتُهُمُ الْعَالِيهْ often visited the Jamia, motivated students and teachers, and addressed challenges with care and encouragement.

Relocation
In October 1997, Jamia shifted from Godhra Colony to Gulistan-e-Johar, offering better facilities. Initially, students studied entire books before moving to new ones due to the absence of a structured syllabus.

Expansion
Jamia-tul-Madinah opened branches in Lahore (1996), Faisalabad, Multan, and other cities. By 1999, Jamia-tul-Madinah for women was established in Karachi, followed by branches in Punjab and beyond.

Dawrah Hadith and Graduation
The first Dawrah Hadith started in 2000 with Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Shams al-Huda al-Misbahi teaching. The first graduation ceremony occurred on 6th January 2001, with 37 students completing Dars-e-Nizami. The Leader of Ahl al-Sunnah granted the title "Madani" to graduates.

The foundations of Jamia-tul-Madinah, laid with sacrifices, enabled its global success today. May Allah accept these efforts and grant further success. آمِين
