Imamat Course: A Sacred Responsibility
Leading prayers (Imamat) is a blessed tradition of the noble prophets (علیہم الصّلوٰۃ والسّلام). Our beloved Prophet, the Makkan and Madinan Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him), often led the prayers himself. It is a sacred field that is deeply respected by everyone.
Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, Hazrat Allama Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri (دامت برکاتھم العالیہ), states:
"Imamat is one of the best services to Islam and a great means of earning lawful sustenance. However, negligence in this duty can lead to the burden of the followers’ prayers dragging one into Hell (May Allah protect us!)."
Therefore, under the supervision of Dawat-e-Islami, Jamia-tul-Madina offers 12-month and 5-month Imamat courses at various locations within the country and abroad. Alhamdulillah, this course, enriched by the company of devoted lovers of the Prophet, is so beneficial for the Hereafter that upon learning its details, any Muslim with a passion for Islam would long for the honor of attending it.
Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat further advises:
"Anyone who wishes to lead prayers must take the Imamat course, even if he is already religious, as this course provides specialized training on the rulings and responsibilities of Imamat."
